Mediaset and Vivendi in peace talks over Euro TV plan
Officials from Italian broadcaster Mediaset and hostile shareholder Vivendi are in talks in a bid to resolve the ongoing dispute surrounding the governance of the broadcaster’s reorganisation of its European interests.
Plans for MediaforEurope, which would wrap Mediaset’s Italian and Spanish operations into a single Dutch held company, have become the focal point for the long-running dispute between the two companies.
Vivendi, which is the second largest shareholder in Mediaset has taken its displeasure to the courts. It fears the new structure would leading to the Berlusconi family tightening its grip on the broadcaster
In a statement, Mediaset confirmed that a Milan court that had been expected to deliver its verdict on the new structure would now make its decision on November 22.
