Switzerland's largest cable operator UPC Cablecom is to distribute
the Swiss versions of German commercial TV channels RTL, RTL II, VOX and
Super RTL in high definition (HD) on its cable network in
German-speaking Switzerland from 19 June 2013.
The subsidiary of US media company Liberty Global will then offer its customers a total of 48 HD channels.
At the same time, analogue carriage of Swiss sports channel SSF will be
stopped, with the channel continuing to be available as a digital-only
service.
