RTL Germany buys F1, Europa League rights
RTL announced that it's secured broadcast rights in Germany to Formula One races and continued coverage of the Uefa Europa League. No financial details of the contracts were disclosed.

Under the agreement with Formula One World Championship Limited (FOWC), the Cologne-based broadcaster will air live coverage of all F1 races, exclusively on free-to-air TV, for the next three years.

Uefa Europa League football will also continue to be broadcast on free-to-air TV following Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland's acquisition of the broadcasting rights to the European club competition for its TV channels RTL Television and Nitro. The broadcaster's expanded football portfolio now includes European Championship soccer and World Cup qualifiers as well as various friendlies featuring the German national team in years to 2022 (RTL Television), 15 live Europa League games every season until 2021 (RTL Television and Nitro) and highlights of first and second division Bundesliga matches every Monday (100% Bundesliga, on Nitro)
